Sophie Nowakowska is an independent curator, artist manager, and art critic with a Master’s in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Art Criticism at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, and runs Artist Management .ART, an organisation that helps artists build informed, long-term careers in the international art market. She is also the founder of London Art Alert, a shared calendar for exhibitions, talks, performances, pop-ups, and projects across London.
Her work combines curatorial and critical practice with mentoring emerging artists, particularly art school graduates entering institutional and commercial markets. Across her writing, exhibitions, and educational projects, she focuses on making contemporary art more accessible and demystifying how the market works, for both artists and audiences who often find the art world closed to them.
She has delivered talks at UAL, VISP, WORK SHOW GROW, AA2A, and many more, taken part in panel discussions hosted by the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland, All About Art Podcast, and served as an award judge at ST.ART Gallery.
